How can we ensure that customers do not use their licenses in any restricted territories?

Partners are required to proactively prevent misuse of JetBrains products in embargoed regions. While JetBrains implements its own compliance measures, partners play a key role during the resale process:

  • Conduct reasonable checks on the end customer's location and business to identify potential risks.
  • Consider incorporating explicit contractual warnings to customers about usage limitations.
  • Be informed about current sanctions lists and restricted territories relevant to your transactions.
  • If you work with other resellers, ensure they are also aware of and comply with these restrictions (GTCs 6.10).
  • Refuse sales if you have reason to believe the licenses will be used in violation of these laws.
  • Cooperate with JetBrains audits, if requested.

Violations should be reported immediately to the JetBrains Legal team. JetBrains reserves the right to suspend licenses or take further legal actions if misuse is detected.

Ensuring the end user's compliance is your responsibility under the Channel Partner Agreement.
